The Food and Drug Association is currently gathering data from multiple medical professionals; CBD users and cannabis industry representatives in order to determine its safety, quality, ideal dosage, effectiveness and eligibility for FDA approval. The FDA is not yet ready to rule on the effectiveness of CBD, side effects, correct dosage and standards.
FDA approved products must be well defined and meet rigid standards and as yet CBD research is incomplete. However, the FDA has approved Epidiolex, a medication containing CBD and used to help ease seizures in certain forms of epilepsy.
Once the required research has been done and perimeters have been set for the production and use of CBD it is likely to receive FDA approval, at least in some forms.
